4/20/2008 Special A - 02![]() The tops students of the second-tier A class challenged Special A into a pro-wrestling match, which the two top students are really psyched over because the two are big pro-wrestling fans. Of course, they are not beneath dirty tactics despite the top student's imminent blushing at the sight of Hikari when she gets all excited about. And of course, Kei gets jealous and overprotective of her event to the point of taking all the beatings for her and refusing her participation. He would tell her that she is a burden but would get pissed if anyone tells her that she is and make his ominous speeches about his great Hikari is - at least this time, he didn't use his Lelouch voice (LOL!)
Well, the second episode of Special A was cute. Frustrated that they recycle jokes like the ni-san boulder thing and why they keep on re-introducing the characters and their ranks. No one should really mind the others' ranks since the only thing that should really matters should be Kei and Hikari's ranks, which pretty much doesn't really change so let's do away with that altogether. I certainly hope that the show would not end up like this and they'd skip a couple of chapters and get to the meat of the progress between Hikari and Kei - after all, this is the reason why I love the manga and keep on watching this anime. :D To LOVE-Ru - 02![]() I should have listened to my gut instincts when it told me that nothing good would come out watching the second episode of To Love-Ru. I mean, I already placed it on my Dropped list! As the second episode of Kanokon is my waste of 24 full minutes, this one is a waste of 24 minutes and 14 seconds. Seriously, this is an overused character types, overused jokes, overused ecchi... Seriously, I really wouldn't have minded the character types and ecchi that much if the story wasn't so damn predictable or if the jokes were rather fresh. Never again! Vampire Knight - 02![]() It's Valentine's Day... Well, most fans of the manga and in their universe, it's called St. Xocholat and of course, the fangirls of the Night Class on hyper mode to give bishies their chocolates. Yuki is in total denial that she has an uber-crush on Kaname-sempai, of course so many people sees through her. Zero is starting to get his attacks more and more often and seems to be looking at Yuki's neck a whole lot. Yey... blood yummy. It looks like Zero's vampiric tendencies will be more apparent much faster... with the few chapters that I read of the anime, I know that he actually has an intolerance to the blood tablets.
Anyway, St. Xocholat is actually more appropriate term for the day... since this is what the day has been resorted to and because of the many miracles chocolates have done for women, it should be sainted. Hahaha! Anyway, I'm feeling extraordinarily sorry for the boys in the Day Class. First of all, there doesn't seems to be that much of leads characters from the Day Class and all the girls fawn over the Night Class. It was declared that most of the boys in Day Class sees Zero as their only hope since he's one of the few who some girls fawn over. But then again, he's an anti-social prick who isn't any fun.
4/17/2008 Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 - 02![]() So this is part flashback episode where we find out the what happened at the end of Stage 25 when Suzaku and Zero had that cliffhanging hold their guns out to each other. No one hit anyone which goes without saying that their marksmanship skills suck. Suzaku brought Lelouch to Britannia where the emperor erased memories of Lasy Marianne, Nunally and Zero. Oh, I really hate Suzaku - traitorous bastard. If I didn't like him during the first season, I seriously hate him now. Talk about taking the death of his girlfriend badly and major suckage much to his would have been father-in-law.
I'm having a really hard time reconciling that the emperor would actually reveal the secrets of Geass to Suzaku.
Well, since they started announcing that Rollo is Lelouch's brother, I've always been suspicious of the little girly man since he's too girly to be a member of the family - everyone looks pretty hot... well, not the empreror so we can only assume that he has pretty recessive genes and everyone got looks from their mothers. Hold on... if he's the one keeping tabs on Lelouch does that mean that he knews about Zero... He has the Geass and all anyway. Anyway, I'm curious to find what kind of Geass he has. But hold on. Lelouch's memories were erased by his father because he had use for him then aim to have him killed through Rollo? OK... I have to relax... I'm watching this for all the brainless violence :D
And what the hell is that fugly bitch Nina doing still alive??? She looks crazier than ever. I bet she was the one who did the modifications on the Lancelot. Oh Lord, I wish she died when she went all suicidal bomber at Stage 25. Shouldn't she be like, mad at Suzaku becuase of he's the one who took away Euphie before she was killed by Zero?
Oh... I find Diethard a total Zero fanboy. I find him worse than any fangirl.
So the Body Count begins (which does not count random individuals who just happened to be there or choiceless minions like soldiers):
Britannians: The Baron (epi1), Governor-General Kalades (epi2) Nihonjin: Captain Urabe (epi2) On a final note, for my episode rants and raves of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, I will no longer post a screenshot of a highlight of each episode because this is generally a violent anime that could be exposed to young, impressionable children. So I will resort to putting up screenshots of the sexiest Lelouch I can find in the episode, the less the better. For this episode, since Lelouch gave his uniform top to Karen, that's minus one article of clothing :D I hope for more less clothes in upcoming episodes. Kyo Kara Maou Season 3 - 01 (79)![]() It took forever to come out... but I finally got my grubby hands on the first episode of the third season of Kyo Kara Maou. Waaaaaaaaaaaaai~<3
The OP was a bit of a stretch for me to appreciate or accept. I miss the upbeat Hateshii Naku Tooi Sora Ni that they've been using as OP for the last two seasons. Now they only have the cheesy ass song about believing yourself or something like that... I actually liked the OVA's OP better than this one. (Which reminds me... I'm wondering whatever happened to the fifth episode of the OVA's subs). The OP was ok... a lot slower than Shiawase no Suteki or Arigatou~ Hay... I wished they at least stayed with the original OP.
Anyway, it started out with me (and every other fan of the anime) to finally find out who the other three other noble families of Shin Makoku - on a personal note, considering I was used to how Suzanna-Julia and Anissina look like, their male counterparts (meaning the heads of the other Ten Aristocrats) look really gay - especially von Kabelnikoff. Actually, I'm confused about the whole thing that was going on. But then again, this is not the first time I felt like that watching this anime where they kept things from Yuuri. I never read the light novels for the lack of adequately translated volumes of the novels so I will have to place my faith on the progression. From what I understand so far, Wolfram has been made the 28th Maou by the Ten Aristocrats but he refuses it and the aristocrats are divided about the issue but it's not clear which part. The Yuuri has his coming-of-age ceremony and had to battle a sandbear??? Ahahaha... I cannot stop laughing at the scene when Gunther was fantasizing about how great Yuuri will look on that day :D
Wai~<3 My favorite bishies!!! Animation quality hasn't gone down. Bishies! Bishies! Bishies! Bishies! Bishies! Wai~!!! Kyoran Kazoku Nikki - 01![]() I never thought I will see a day where an anime is too weird for me. Well... it seems that the day havs come.
This is a story about Ouka, a man who is part of some paranormal agency controlled by the government used to keep paranormal stuff in check. He was able to catch a nekomusume named Kyouka who he was asked to marry (after about a five-second hesitation) by his superiors. Then they have to look for the five children of Enka, some demon from the past, to looks after and keep evryone in check before they get around destorying the world. So there's a human father, a nekomusume for a mother, and for children... there's a lion, a kawaii ojo-chan, a kurage, a biological weapon and a gay seinen. Actually, the the gay seinen is actually the most normal thing in this show.
I actually like the OP - it was fun and upbeat. That's about the sum of the things that I like about the anime. For one thing... Kyouka is tooooooooooooooooooooooo damn talkative. She's like in a perma-sugar high. Animation was fine but I find something badly wrong with how Kyouka is animated. Actually, It's another one of those annoying characters with no sense but their own instincts on how things should go but should be found cute because she's a nekomusume. Actually, this is actually one of those anime where a certain level of ecchiness would be useful and appreciated. But it's not. The only laugh I had with this one was with the gay seinen. But the rest of the story and the anime, which is about 99% Kyouka, is just plain annoying.
If the second episode of Kanokon was a waste of my 24 minutes, this is a big waste of 24 minutes and 14 seconds.
By the way, the image posted is also from the anime. I just posted it despite it's not being related to the story (maybe) because I liked how it looked.
4/16/2008 xxx-HOLiC Kei - 02![]() Yay! Episode two of HOLiC...
Well, Production I.G. has begun screwing up the order of the manga again. This time bringing out the meko-musume ahead of schedule. I actually had the sinking feeling that she would already lead him to the ancient well already which was supposed to be water for the Acid Tokyo arc of TRC and use it as the the ingredients for what's needed to break the curse the spider made. Thankfully, it was only a cameo about the news in the spritual world. Aww... the Zashiki-warashi's kidnapped. I was hoping to get a glimpse of her since she's my fave HOLiC character.
OK, the bookworm was really creepy because I'm a voracious reader - even though these days, my tastes run more on manga. And here I was getting myself ready to read after watching this. By the way, the spider web is still hanging on my ceiling - I think it's gonna take me a couple of weeks before I recover from it and I get rid of it. Ahahaha... well, I can always ask the maid.
I am actually starting to think that Fukujun is voice acting too much anime this season. I think his schedule is getting whacked since I am starting to hints of Lelouch this time, especially when he starts making ominous speeches - well, this time it was only Watanuki bragging about the dinner he made. Well, I'm looking forward to the next episode especially since the Zashiki-warashi's undoubtedly gonna be featured since the Karasu Tengo's taking him with them. On another note, though I understand since the Spider Lady Arc is quite long, this is the longest thing xxx-HOLiC epiosdes come, which are more than 2 consecutive episodes. Allison to Lillia - 02![]() I'm so happy that I got hold of the second episode much faster than the first episode. I'm actually enjoying this anime, eventhough it doesn't have my usual elements of a good anime.
So they crashed the plane that they promised to return :D *sarcasm* Surprise! *sarcasm* This epi showed a little more about Allison and Wil's background when they met in an orphanage where Allison declared him to be her henchman. Like their grown up versions, Allison is the more reckless one and Wil is the patsy who goes along to her every scheme and whim. They landed on enemy ground following the other plane. Wil got injured (not because of a crash - he merely fell in to water [again] - but because of a fawn) and showed amazing recovery powers when he didn't go into a concussion when the hoof hit his head. Anyway, Allison seem to be more of the brawns of the operation since she was able to carry Wil on her back when he lost consciousness into an isolated house in the middle of the forest.
Probably the highlight of this episode (since the animators made it seem longer than it was necessary) is when Wil invited Allison to share the bed with him. As THAT Animeblog mentioned, props to Wil for not sneaking a grope on Allison and boo to Allison for not taking advantage of the situation especially since she seem to be so in love with him.
OK, this anime does not keep me at the edge of my seat when I watch it or make me groan in frustration when the ED plays, but it actually has a pretty fascinating story. Compared to the bleh ecchi anime I've been watching, this seems to be pretty different and interesting. 4/14/2008 Kanokon - 02![]() OK... that was probably the biggest waste of 24 minutes I've ever done in my entire adult life.
I thought this is gonna be another mysterious transfer student story coming up. Enter Nozumu from the ookami clan. She started liking Kouta when he treated her with kindness when he saw her by the meat shop. I really don't mind ecchi anime, I seriously don't. In fact, I find it quite interesting and amusing if they had a story attached to it. But that's the thing... that's the thing missing - a story. OK, I got it there's a feud between the ookami and the kitsune. But they seriously fight over Kouta??? Not that I don't find him an adorable character but with that much sexual harrassment that he's facing, he might as well make true with his reputation :D What the hell am I saying? But I don't think a story of any kind will come forth unless he finally sleeps with Chizuru.
C'mon, please... let them have sex already. Or maybe... *horrified* they'll probably end the story with Kouta and Chizuru having sex. I'm so horrified at the fact that this will end up being an ecchi-fest with a story on the side, not the other way around... :( On an interesting note, I find Nozumu (though I'm totally aloss if she's supposed to be really blond ot silver-haired - I kinda lost track) but she looks a lot like Rico from Gunslinger Girl. Kamen no Maid Guy - 01![]() So I wasn't really expecting much when I picked up Kamen no Maid Guy. After all, I'm not into maid and butler anime. The closest I could muster was Hayate no Gotoku, which became quite a bored after they extended it to 52 episodes just because of it's popularity.
This is generally about Fuijwara Naeka and her life with the two new maids that her grandfather sent to them. She and brother Kousuke live alone at home after their parents disappeared in a plane crash. Her grandfather got them two maids Kubuki and Kogarashi (the maid guy) to serve and protect them. Naeka is about to have her 18th birthday in 174 days and they need her alive. Her grandfather's people think that assassins are after them because they want her dead because she's to inherit her grandfather's fortune based on the family tree or something I don't really know how they determined it.
There was this really funny moment when her grandfather mentioned the over detail of PVC figurines and Japan's terrifying ability to produce these. I'm a collector of PVC figurines I get off random boxes and I was ROFL because it was soooooooo true!!! As I wasn't really expecting much from it and just downloaded it because I promised myself that I will no longer pass up any anime premiering because I might miss out of a gem. Anyway, this anime really made me laugh a lot. The humor is common and quite adult, not something you have to be an otaku to figure out. I may continue to watch this if they keep up the pace and not let it run dry. ひきこもりちゃんhikikomori-chan |
